On Saturday, May 3, join the IRWP to help install two rain gardens at the new Siloam Springs Whitewater Recreation Park on the Illinois River.  Volunteers can help with planting, mulching, and watering plants.  Lunch will be provided. Please register to volunteer!
Rain gardens collect stormwater runoff and allow it to slowly soak into the ground.  Native plants grow deep roots that filter pollutants to improve water quality. The two rain gardens at this park will treat runoff from the parking lot and other paved surfaces.
Driving Directions:
From Siloam Springs, take Hwy. 59 south for 2 miles until you reach Devor Rd.  Turn left on Devor Rd. and follow for .4 miles until you reach Fisher Ford Rd. Turn right on Fisher Ford Rd. and continue until you reach the park.
If you'd rather caravan to the site, please meet in the southern (nearest Hwy. 412) portion of the Lowe's parking lot in Siloam Springs by 9:45 AM.  Lauren from the IRWP staff will lead volunteers to the Siloam Springs Whitewater Recreation Park.
