Dear Friends and Partners -

As a very active member of the Illinois River Watershed Partnership, we wanted you to be the first to know that we have started a new blog called Upstream Matters!  We are very excited about the opportunity that this will give us to tell the story of the land and water around us and to educate our readers on protecting and restoring the rivers, lakes and streams.

Within the next several weeks, we will be publishing a variety posts targeted specifically to the broad and diverse stakeholders in our watershed. You will see topics aimed at students, educators, business and environmental professionals, land owners, city officials, and to the general public. Water Proof, The Watershed Landscape, Paddler's Post and Nature's Classroom are a few of the serial posts that will make a regular appearance on our blog and encourage the targeted audience to engage in conversation around watershed management.

We're just getting started here, and we encourage you join us and watch our blog grow and unfold.  We hope you'll sign up to receive the latest posts via email -- the sign up box is right on the homepage of our blog ( click here to visit it).  And you would honor us if you share it with a friend.

But for now, enjoy our first two posts, by clicking on the image above.  We'd love to hear your feedback and suggestions.  Join in the conversation on the posts themselves, or send us an email -- either way, your opinions are very important to us.
