Leif Kindberg, Executive Director of the Illinois River Watershed Partnership (IRWP), will be speaking about the Riparian Restoration Program implemented from 2019 - 2024 in the Illinois River Watershed.
With funding from the Arkansas Department of Agriculture - Natural Resources Division and the Walton Family Foundation, as well as 12 other state, local, and federal partners, this program signed up 35 landowners to enhance or restore over 21 miles of streams in the watershed reducing sediment and nutrients and restoring habitat in a range of riparian and upland ecosystems. Leif will discuss urban and rural projects and his experience and lessons learned from implementing this program.
