Join the Illinois River Watershed Partnership for a full-day introductory training led by Brian Branum of STIHL Southwest Inc. The morning classroom session covers PPE, hazard identification, chainsaw safety features, and cutting techniques; in the afternoon, we'll head outdoors for hands-on equipment demonstrations.
Open to landowners, volunteers, trail stewards, conservation professionals, municipal staff — anyone who wants to work smarter and safer with a saw!
This workshop qualifies as an Elective Workshop for the Conservation Training Program's Conservation Associate level and Conservation Technician level.
Registration is limited to 30 participants.
Lunch will be provided from Great Harvest!
Wear closed-toe boots and long pants, dress for the weather, and bring a water bottle.
