Mount Sequoyah Public Planting (Copy)

  • Mount Sequoyah Center 150 North Skyline Drive Fayetteville, AR, 72701 United States (map)

In the Fall of 2024, IRWP partnered with the Mount Sequoyah Retreat Center and FlowState LLC to install green infrastructure on their property. These features increase soil infiltration, reduce stormwater runoff, and hold back water flows. This improves water quality, reduces flooding risk downstream, and creates a thriving habitat for local wildlife!

Now, we want to maintain this native landscape - which requires minimal effort! IRWP staff and volunteers will perform an early spring cutback that will make room for new plant growth!

Why Volunteer?

  • Learn about green infrastructure and its role in sustainable stormwater management.

  • Help restore and protect the local watershed, benefiting the entire community.

  • Enjoy a hands-on opportunity to plant native species that support biodiversity.

  • Meet other passionate individuals who care about environmental conservation.

Register below to volunteer with IRWP at the Mount Sequoyah Retreat Center on Thursday, March 12th.
